General Smedley Butler is one of the more famous Generals from the US during the first World War and the interwar period, and I recently re-read his famous essay/lecture series War is a Racket. For some reason, it still felt like it resonated. In the process of wargaming, I of course paint too many military

Academic busts have been making pretty quick and easy display projects, but it is easy to get lost in the weeds. They also lack some of the narrative opportunities of other kinds of mini art. So I think the key for me is to not get lost in this multi-month iteration with them at the
Art first. This is a somewhat unique sentiment in event planning for the miniature community – since so much energy is spent on gaming and creating pieces with a utilitarian angle, creating an “Art First” event is kind of an obvious reaction. Art shows and gatherings are of course quite common, but the US miniature
We have a new mascot! Well, I guess it is the mascot we’ve always had, but now he has a miniature form! The official Union Gang logo! So when we were at Bring Out your Lead last year (sadly won’t be happening in 2026, but hopefully more on that later), we were hanging out in

They’re aiming for a purely painting and modeling focused show similar to ones found in Europe- something of an art retreat and something of a painting competition. I wasn’t sure I’d

Just a quick one here today! So I do want to try to repost and capture some of my older work from the collection over the years. This is Chinbeard the Giant! I originally built and bashed this way back in 6th edition Warhammer Fantasy for my Orc and Goblin Army. By then, the Marauder

Sometimes it is fun to connect with history. The last couple weeks I’ve been focused on pulling together some pieces for the MFCA 2026 Annual show, held just outside of Philly. Hosted by the Miniature Figure Collectors Association (https://www.mfcaclub.com/) this show is in its 83rd year! That’s pretty wild. For anyone who got into this
