So I continued to play around a bit with the oil painting project, letting it start to set, and finishing up the base!
I added a bit of wood stain to the base to give it some depth, just some Varathane I had lying around, and cleaned up the ground, adding a small water effect.
I think it still looks pretty rough in places, but some areas have really nice blends and depth of color!
When fully dry, I plan to spend some time recess shading! It’s been fun so far, many subtleties to learn in handling oils. I’m certainly not going to convert over fully, but excited to try this again on a larger mini as @zabaart_ suggested.
