Just a quick one here today!
So I do want to try to repost and capture some of my older work from the collection over the years. This is Chinbeard the Giant!
I originally built and bashed this way back in 6th edition Warhammer Fantasy for my Orc and Goblin Army. By then, the Marauder Giant (the base mini) was a mail-order only piece, and the Albion giants and the 6th edition metal giant (with the tombstone club) were already in existence. While those were much more fantasy-coded, there was something great about this more traditional grounded giant. I did some repositioning to try to get the vibe of height and reaching, and added the men-in-bags flail bits.
The fleeing Empire mercenary is mostly from the old Free Company box (the Mordheim sprues).
So I had made this around 2001 or so, with the dream of it being the centerpiece of my Orc and Goblin Army. And of course I used it… but never painted it!
I revisited it way later, in 2019, for a DakkaDakka painting challenge, finishing this up. Really still pretty happy about this one- for the time this was definitely some of my best work!
I should do another big thing soon- a dragon or something….
